In a DAO, rules are embedded in code, decisions are made through token-holder votes, and everything is transparent and secure. The first DAO, known as "The DAO," was launched in 2016 as an investment fund but was hacked due to a code vulnerability, highlighting the technology’s limitations. Since then, DAOs have evolved, and today millions of blockchain projects—from trading platforms to creative communities—use this structure.
